Relevant laws and regulations
The following laws and regulations are particularly relevant for the activities of the law firm:
The professional law of lawyers is mainly regulated in the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO). It contains, among other things, the basic regulations on admission to the legal profession and on the rights and obligations in the context of practicing the legal profession. The Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers (BORA) and the Specialist Lawyers' Code (FAO) supplement the BRAO.
Lawyers who have been admitted to practice in another EU member state and (also) practice in Germany are also subject to the so-called Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EuRAG) or the Regulation on the Implementation of Section 206 BRAO for lawyers from non-European countries.
For cross-border activities within Europe (EU, EFTA, EEA, as well as Ukraine and Turkey), the lawyer must also observe the regulations of the Association of European Bars and Law Societies (CCBE).
